Design supervision means controlling how the interior design project is delivered, from the first day of the renovation to final handover. Between approved drawings and a finished interior there is ten times more work than the design itself took. The designer runs the project personally: checking every stage against the drawings, catching the contractor’s deviations and recording the result, so that what is built matches what was designed.

- 12Setting out against the walls as built — we mark the porcelain tile and moulding layout in pencil on site and agree it with you. With patterned tile the laying order decides everything: without marking, the team takes the material in whatever order it comes and the pattern does not line up.

We set the boundaries of the service upfront, so there are no surprises.
- Construction and installation works. The studio offers construction as a separate service: you can take it together with supervision, or run the build yourself and leave us supervision only.
- Procurement and supply of materials, furniture and equipment. Choosing textures and colours on site, yes; supply and logistics belong to furnishing and procurement.
- Warranty responsibility for work the studio did not perform. If construction is carried out by a third-party contractor, we record deviations in the supervision log, and the party that builds fixes them and is responsible under warranty. When we perform the construction ourselves, responsibility for the work is ours.
- Project changes outside the approved interior design project. New solutions and revisions of sections are documented as a separate task — this keeps the project under clear documentation control.
- Managing the site team. The builders are run by a foreman, which is a separate construction management service.

Frequently asked questions
How much does design supervision cost and what does the price depend on?
Supervision starts from from €700/month. The final figure depends on the floor area, how complex the project is, travel to the site and how long the build runs. We price it for the specific project — leave a request.
How many times does the designer visit the site?
At least four scheduled site visits a month, plus two unscheduled ones. The frequency is set in the contract and can be increased at critical stages, such as finishing work or the installation of complex structures. We work with clients both in person and remotely, depending on the project.
Is design supervision the same as construction management?
No, these are two different jobs and you can commission them separately. The designer controls delivery: checks progress against the project, records discrepancies and resolves technical questions. The build is run by a foreman, which is the construction management service. The studio also does the construction itself, as a separate service: you can take it together with supervision, or run the build yourself and leave us supervision only.
Can design supervision be commissioned if the project was done by another studio?
We normally supervise the build of our own design project. Supervising someone else’s project we look at case by case: we need to be sure the documentation is complete enough for real control.
Why pay for supervision if there is a foreman?
A foreman runs the construction process but is not answerable for whether the result matches the design project. That is exactly where things drift: the tile layout comes out wrong, the material has the wrong texture, sockets move. Supervision catches deviations while they are still cheap to fix.
What exactly is included in design supervision?
Site visits to the property (at least 4 scheduled plus 2 unscheduled per month), ensuring work matches the project, checking materials against the approved samples, consulting builders using the drawings, issuing clarifying documentation, visits to showrooms and production facilities, maintaining a supervision log with photo documentation, final selection of colours and textures, coordinating engineering solutions with the design project.
What is not included and what does another professional handle?
Design supervision does not include construction and installation works (performed by the contractor), procurement and delivery of materials and furniture (this is furnishing and procurement), or design changes outside the approved interior design project (we arrange those as a separate task). The studio does not manage contractors, and it is not responsible for construction timelines or for the contractor’s workmanship quality under warranty.
How does reporting work and how will I stay informed?
After each visit you receive a report with photographs of the completed work and any points recorded. In parallel we keep a design supervision log, a running document covering the whole course of the project.
Who carries out the supervision?
Design supervision is run by Nadezhda Guseva, the studio’s Chief Designer and the author of the project. Decisions on site are taken by the person who designed it, so nothing is lost in handover.
How to arrange design supervision and when is the best time to start?
We plug in from day one of the renovation — that’s when the key structural decisions are set. Leave a request or ask for a cost estimate — we will agree on the format, visit frequency, and the start date.

At least four planned visits per month plus unscheduled visits for disputed issues. The schedule is set out in the contract; after each visit, you receive a report with photo documentation.
On-site visit
We review what was done since the last visit and resolve any disputed points on site.
Ceiling sound insulation
The boards are in and the cable is run: we sign it off before the ceiling is closed up.
Suspended ceiling junction detail
Abutment of the profile and the grille: the gap and the seam line are checked up close.
Subfloor base
Flatness and the joints between sheets are inspected before the final covering is applied.
Large-format installation
Set out to the drawings: the stone pattern runs through and the joints stay under control.
Wall light fixture installation
Height and centreline are checked against the wall mural; the light temperature against the project.
Lighting and built-in furniture
The chandelier is in; the packaging comes off last, after the dusty work.
Flooring and carpentry
We sign off the herringbone direction and the junction with the built-in cabinetry before handover.
