Decoration is the core of interior design: it gives the project individuality, uniqueness, and beauty. It’s the styling of the interior with accessories — paintings, vases, clocks, mirrors, curtains, stone-and-flower compositions, wall art, tapestries, embroidery, and much more that makes the space cosy and complete. The choice of the colour palette is also important: with the right combination of colours and shades, items work well together and form a cohesive whole.

Before we start, we meet to agree the technical brief and the design brief: the style, how the future interior should be equipped, colour preferences, finishes and the budget. At the next meeting we sign the contract (sent over and agreed by email beforehand), after which you hand over the existing floor plans of the property. On the same day or the next we carry out a measured survey, and once the advance payment is made the design work begins in earnest.

Design supervision means visiting the site (usually one to three times a week and no more than six times a month; the exact number is set in the contract) to clarify details, record comments in the design and in the works log, and settle questions about the design documentation with the client and the contractor. It keeps the finished space true to the original design and saves the cost of rework caused by builders misreading the documentation or by changes made during construction.

As a rule we offer two or three layout options. Sometimes there are more — it depends on the size and the constraints of the space. The option the client approves is then developed into the full design project. In any case we work through every workable option and put forward the best one.
