Design project for an apartment, 177 m²

The apartment opens with a refined entrance hall in which every element has been thought through, giving an atmosphere of opulence and comfort. The floor is laid in marble of several shades in a geometric pattern that becomes the strongest accent of the space. Two things hold the eye in particular: a round mirror in a slender frame, which underlines the elegance of the interior, and an unusual light fitting that gives a soft, diffused light and warms the room.

The entrance hall is divided from the main part of the apartment by mirrored pivoting dividers, which add lightness and air. Their reflecting surfaces enlarge the space and multiply the daylight coming in. With the marble floor, the mirrors give an impression of opulence and fine elegance and make the interior feel complete.

From the entrance hall we come straight into the kitchen, where the main decorative element is a striking light fitting of unusual shape hanging above the half-height bar counter. The counter, with its elegant stools, invites you to sit down for a morning coffee or a quick bite. The kitchen is kept in restrained tones with natural materials, which makes it comfortable, and the mirrored dividers add a sense of space and lightness.

The way through to the living room is handled with a run of furniture and with plants, so that one space turns into the other without a break. Shelves with decoration and their own lighting make the passage worth looking at, and two large plants in pots finish it off.

From the kitchen-dining area the living room is in full view: the mirrored wall in églomisé and the bioethanol fireplace work for both areas and tie them into one space.

The living room is marked out by a refined design that brings together tradition and the present day. The space is finished in neutral, settling tones with accents of natural materials such as the rare green onyx on the wall and timber. A handsome fireplace against the mirrored wall adds warmth and makes an ideal place to rest. Large windows fill the room with fresh air and daylight, which together with the rich textiles and comfortable furniture gives an atmosphere of real comfort and welcome.

The dining area is arranged with fine taste and attention to detail. At the centre is an elegant table with a marble top and unusually shaped legs, surrounded by comfortable chairs. The lighting is chosen to give a warm atmosphere at the table, and handsome curtains and decorative pieces complete the picture. The art object in the dining area, an elegant sculpture on a marble surface set into a curved copper niche, gives the space character and refinement.

The guest room, which doubles as a study, is contemporary and puts professional function alongside domestic comfort. It supports both productive work and easy rest: a functional desk with a comfortable chair, and a corner with a soft sofa and an abstract art object on the wall. Timber accents, marble surfaces and neutral shades enrich the space and make it coherent. Elegant cupboards and shelves are well suited to keeping documents, books and other things in order.
