Interior design of a café, 250 m²

HoReCa · 250 m² · Completed

About the project

Full-cycle work on a gastropub interior: design project, 3D visualisations, design supervision, and furnishing and procurement.

Client request

Develop a design project and 3D visualisations for the Gastropub 40 interior, then provide design supervision, furnishing and procurement.

The venue is a 250 m² gastropub on the ground floor, with large windows facing the street. The work was carried out full-cycle: from concept and visualisations through to on-site supervision and selecting furnishings.

Challenge

To create a rich, memorable atmosphere in the gastropub space, one that works by day in the natural light of the large shopfront windows and in the evening in a more intimate mode with lower lighting.

In effect, one room needed to hold two different states: a daytime one, open and bright, and an evening one, warm and private. The switch between them had to happen through colour, texture and light.

Concept

An intimate gastropub with a character of its own. A deep emerald-green backdrop, decorative plaster and graphic modernist-style art posters create the atmosphere of a city venue you want to come back to.

The deep green keeps its intensity both in daylight from the windows and under warm evening lighting. Textured plaster gives the walls a sense of movement, reading differently under side light and under directional light. A series of art posters sets the rhythm along the walls, while a patterned tiled floor links the zones together without partitions.

Result

The finished interior is coherent and full of character: deep green walls, textured plaster, a patterned tiled floor and a series of expressive art posters. Warm accents in the furniture and the focused light of the pendants make the space comfortable and photogenic.

Both scenarios live in one room: by day the venue reads as a bright city gastropub, by evening as an intimate spot with lower lighting. The studio carried the project through to completion, with on-site design supervision, and furnishing and procurement.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the project

How long does it take to design the interior of a café or gastropub?

For a café or gastropub of around 100 m², it takes 2.5–3 months: layout, 3D visualisation of every zone and technical documentation. That covers the design stage only; construction timelines then depend on the contractor and the scope of finishing work. ARTEVRIKA designed the 250 m² Gastropub 40 through the same stages; at that size the timeline is longer.

What does a commercial interior design project include?

First comes layout and zoning: for a gastropub that means the bar area, the main hall, the entrance area and the washrooms. Next is 3D visualisation, the selection of materials, furniture and lighting, and technical documentation for the builders. On request, ARTEVRIKA also handles design supervision and turnkey furnishing and procurement.

Do you work with clients remotely?

Yes. We work with clients in person or remotely, depending on the project. Gastropub 40 was largely run at a distance, with site visits at key stages, and we work on both residential and public interiors this way.

How much does gastropub interior design cost?

We calculate the cost for each specific venue, based on floor area and scope of work: design, design supervision, and furnishing and procurement. After the brief and the measured survey, ARTEVRIKA gives an exact cost estimate, and we can give an indicative budget as early as the first call.
